Drivers and barriers to reshoring: a literature review on offshoring in reverse

The objective of this paper is to define the concept of reshoring and explore its key drivers and barriers. Meanwhile, the overview of the previous theories about reshoring is provided in this paper. Qualitative research methods are adopted in this research. Data were collected by conducting a structured literature review on reshoring (22 journal papers are considered). This paper classifies drives and barriers into five groups: global competitive dynamics, ome country, host country, supply chain and firm-specific.
