Abstract:

The paper investigates reshoring through an in-depht case study analysis. The reseach focuses on reshoring initiatives motivated by increased costs and supply management problems in the offshore location. The research has been developed through an in-depth longitudinal case study regarding a British company. In particular, the paper explores how sustainability can be enhanced through reshoring.

The findings demonstrate the importance of long-term relationships in managing a sustainable supply network. These relationships contribute to enhance the resources that a firm can harness in its supply practices. For the case firm, these advantages are derived through its localised supply chain and collaborative supplier relationships. In this light, progressive reshoring of activities is integral to achieving sustainability .
