Case narrative:

NBI Bearings Europe is a Spanish company founded at the beginning of the 21st century, which produces bearings mainly for the German market.

The company owns a plant in China. However, in 2015 thanks to new investors, a new plant was opened in Spain. According to the CEO, exchange rate risks, the rise in labour costs offshore, as well as issues with customs have motivated the company to backshore production. The new plant also aims to increase annual volumes of production.
