Polarica Wild Food is a company located in Haparanda (Sweden) and it was founded in 1972. It is Europe's leader in supplying berries, mushrooms and game meat. In the spring of 2017, the company moved part of its packaging operations from Swidwin in Poland to Haparanda in Sweden. The goal is to move the packaging of Swedish and Finnish berries closer to their place of origin and shorten transporting times to Finnish and Swedish markets, even though some of the production is exported to other parts of Europe and Asia. Juha Ruohola, the CEO of Polarica, stated that that the company takes its environmental responsibility seriously and seeks therefore to shorten the transporting times.Polarica will hire three new employees for the company’s factory in Haparanda.
