Case narrative:

In response to rising production and logistical costs, Symington’s, a Yorkshire-based food manufacturer, decided to reshore noodle production from China back to the UK. The new factory is located in Hunslet, Leeds (UK). A new noodle line was installed in a new plant in Hunslet (UK), with an investment of £2.5m and around 50 new jobs. Relocating production from China to Leeds has enabled the company to ensure the security of the company’s supply chain and its production standards, shorten the supply chain as well as be more responsive to customer orders and deliver new promotions at short notice. The company expects to create another 75 jobs over the next 12 months.
